The Full Monty of our adoption process as we go through it

Last year this time, my husband and i were nervous about entering the world of adoption. We had all kinds of worry, were afraid of the possibility of failed matches, and were just confused as can be.
Now this year we have the best Christmas gift ever. Our Lady Bug. No holiday will ever be the same again. We cant wait to watch her Laugh grow and turn in to a lovely young lady. I do have to say I have even been thinking about when to start the process of #2. But after much debate that will wait a few years, and I think we will choose to go the Foster to adopt path, for 1-7 year old little boy.
For any one who wishes to journey in to the world of adoption, it comes with many Ups and downs.
I still think about those 2 failed matches we had and wonder what if. Please make sure to do your research on the path of adoption you choose, and I wish you luck.
We wish everyone a Happy Holiday, and cant wait for 2013 when we finalize our adoption.
I will keep you up to date, oh how we are doing, for more frequent updates you can LIKE us on Facebook at Mandi & Jeremys Facebook Blog

if you have not been following our facebook page, here is a update.if you have not been following our facebook page, here is a update.
We officially had 2 Failed Matches.
Match 1 that didn't work out you know about. That Bio mom Disappeared, and stopped contacting the Agency. (We lost about 2,500$ on that match. I hate to say it, but I think she was a Scammer.
Match 2 Happened the day after we Match 1 was cancled. The baby was to be due the same time as baby 1. So it must be FATE RIGHT??? Well to find out the Bio mom was hiding info from the agency. The baby was gonna have to have open Heart surgery the day it was born. and was possibly MR.
As Much as I want to adopt, I can not handle a child that will be MR and or have medical issues all its life, and this one was to have. If I had been able to adopt a child with medical issues I would of adopted a needy child from the Foster system, (Adopting From Foster is almost FREE) and would of saved that 35K$ to spend on the child instead of a agency.
So I Canceled that Match, With in 3 Weeks I had Lost 2 Children. One Little boy, and one Unknown.
I Cried and Cried, I still think about those little ones.
All this happens with in the month of June.
I close the door to the Nursery, and stop going in there, I can't even open the door. July ends.
AUGUST, 19 2012 approximately 3pm - MATCHED AND BORN!!!
On This Date, while on our way home from a Major couponing trip, My husbands phone rings, i look at it and it is the Adoptiong ALliance. Huh What !!?!??!?! it is Saturday!?!??! why would they call on a weekend UNLESS……..
Yes a Baby girl was born, she is 6 days old!! She is in the NICU, but only because her bio mom had her at home. Mom has already left the hospital and signed the papers. All we have to do is get to TX by tomorrow afternoon.
With in 3 hours, we were packed, had a flight and were on our way to the airport.
By 11 pm that night Jeremy and I were in TX in our hotel room unable to sleep because in less than 12 hours we would get to meet our lovely little girl for the first time.

When you were expecting did you get all NEW items??
I personally see no reason to do so. A baby grows out of items so quick in the first year. They use that pritty dress once maybe, or never. You end up donating it to the good will, and then people like me pick it up for $2-$3 (only a fraction of the price you paid from the store)
I understand there are some items you get New, Like a Training Potty. Matress, ect......
Me I was able to go shopping at one of my local good wills, and picked up about 30 outfits about 25% of them still had the tags on them, and the others looked like they were used maybe once.
One item a pair of Winni the Poo Overals Size 0-3 mos for only $3.00 with tags still on them. Now i like to go in the disney store when i go to the mall, and i Know the cost of their cothing. those had to of cost at least $12-15 in the store.
I Only I ended up paying about $20 for what would of been at least $130 of clothing if bought else where.
Another Used item we picked up was a Car seat with base and matching stroller. Usually $160 for the set New. We paid $60 and the lady only had used it for 6 mos, and it looks perfectly new. No food stuck between any thing
So what is your take. are you brave wnough to use others slightly used items to save cash? or is your little one in need of only New items?

Since we started posting mostly on our Facebook page alot has happined.
Let me give you a run down.
March 22 - We were officially approved by our Agency "The Adoption Alliance"
April 5th - We approved our "Adoption Profile Book" - Even though I still was not impressed or happy with it. There is a rant all on its own with this. Lets just say "YOU ARE NOT A DESIGNER IF YOU USE A SCRAP BOOK PROGRAM - and yes our agency required us to use these people"
May 8th - we are Selected by a Bio mom !!!!! Baby due Sept 22, 2012
June 12th - Bio mom had been Mia or lieing to agency since we matched - Agency puts us back out for other potential Bio families to look at our Profile.
Yah what a roller coaster. But hay that is how things go.
